What is pressure washing?
Pressure washing uses high-pressure water to blast away dirt, oil, algae and grime. It's the right choice for hard, durable surfaces — concrete driveways, paths, pavers, brick and pool surrounds — where you want to lift stubborn staining quickly without harming the surface.
What is soft washing?
Soft washing uses low pressure plus an eco, biodegradable treatment that kills mould, algae and lichen at the root, then a gentle rinse. Because the solution does the work, it cleans delicate surfaces safely and keeps working for weeks after — so the result lasts longer than a quick blast.
Which surfaces need which?
- High pressure: driveways, concrete, paths, pavers, pool surrounds.
- Soft wash: roofs, render, painted surfaces, weatherboard, fibro and cladding, timber decks.
Why high pressure is the wrong call for roofs and render
Hit a roof with high pressure and you risk cracking or dislodging tiles, lifting metal and stripping protective coatings. On render and paint, high pressure can force water behind cladding or mark the finish. That's why we never high-pressure a roof or a rendered wall — we soft-wash them instead. It's safer and the clean holds for longer.
How we choose
We match the method to the surface on every job — high pressure where it's safe, soft washing where it's needed — always with eco treatments that are kind to your gardens and our waterways. Whatever the surface, you get a free, fixed, upfront quote first.
A quick rule of thumb
If it's horizontal and hard (driveway, path), pressure washing is usually right. If it's the house itself or the roof, it should be a soft wash. Not sure? Send us a photo and we'll tell you honestly which your place needs — exterior cleaning only (we don't do windows).
